Hello,
just your help to show me how to play and make 6 spades in south
proposed in your "other bridge activities->double dummy->devilry by composer
commander Pawle."
I try desperately since one week without success.
Hereunder the distribution.

cash two diamonds (key play to prevent west from discarding diamonds later and spoiling the timing) and play a trump to the ace. Now cash 3 clubs discarding hearts and ruff a club.

If west discards a heart, play a trump to the king and ruff the last club. If west discards another heart, cash the diamond ace.
Now if west ruffs, any return leaves dummy high and discarding a heart still only lets him have one trick.
If west over-ruffs the first club and returns a trump, win it in dummy, ruff the last club (west can't over-ruff), play a heart to the ace and lead the last trump from dummy. East must discard from K 87. If he plays a diamond throw the ace of diamonds and dummy has 2 good diamonds. If he throws a heart you must also throw a heart and your hand is high.
If west over-ruffs the first club and returns a heart, win, ruff the last club, and cash the KQ in dummy, the same squeeze applies.
If west over-ruffs the second club and returns a trump, any return leads to the same squeeze against east.

cool hand ^_^

Thanks for your kind explanation.
But in the case " Now if west ruffs, any return leaves dummy high and discarding a heart still only lets him have one trick." (4th line of your message)
the situation is here
http://cjoint.com/?CHvwI32K9aO
And I will lose one trump or king of heart which makes one down. Am I wrong?

yes because you cashed the A at some point.
you should have done the following up to this point:
-cash 2 diamonds
-play 1 top trump
-cash 3 clubs
-ruff club
-play trump to king
-ruff club
-cash ace of diamonds
after the 9th trick, right before you cash the ace of diamonds, this is what the end position looks like:

if west discards a heart, play a heart to the ace and cash your trump, giving west the last trick.
Become yourself.

Hello Lord Molyb ,
In the meantime I find another solution. Is it correct after you?
Cash Queen of diamond, and play King and Ace of diamond.
A.If west ruffs:Cash his of return spade or heart, ruff small club,go back to dummy with trump, ruff again other small club from your hand.Play trump or heart from your hand and cash with ace from dummy.Dummy is winner now.If west returns club play small from dummy ruff from your hand and then same tempo.
B.If west doesn' ruff: go to dummy with trump, play jack of diamond and discard heart from your hand.
a.if west ruffs:same scenario above
b.if west doesn't ruff: ruff small club from your hand,go to dummy with trump and cash last trump.
1.if east discard club, continue to play club from dummy until ruffing by opponent.(Ace of heart still is on dummy)
2.if east discard heart: Cash Ace of heart and continue to play club.

Kind regards.

West discards a club on the third diamond. You play a trump to dummy and play the jack of diamonds. West ruffs this low and returns a heart, which you must win in dummy. You ruff a small club, go back to dummy with a trump, and ruff another small club. You are now in the south hand in the following end position:

Now you must lose either a heart or a trump.
Become yourself.

Thanks, you are absolutely right. I presume that there is only one solution; yours.

Kind regards.
